Emirates interview questions (with model answers)

Tailored to what Emirates recruiters actually probe for — adapt each into your own honest, concise answer.

1. Why Emirates and not another airline?

Reference a concrete reason — the A380 product, the ICE entertainment, the chance to be based in a global hub like Dubai, or their service reputation — and connect it to what you offer. Generic answers that could apply to any airline are the most common reason strong candidates get cut.

Tip: Name something specific to Emirates.

2. How would you handle a passenger who is unhappy with the service?

Stay calm, listen fully, acknowledge how they feel and offer a solution within your authority; involve the senior crew if needed. Emphasise that you never take it personally and protect the experience of other passengers too.

Tip: Empathy first, then a solution.

3. Dubai is very multicultural — how do you work with people from many backgrounds?

Give a real example of working or serving across cultures, and show you adapt — being mindful of customs, dietary needs and communication styles. This is core to Emirates’ daily reality.

Tip: Show genuine cultural awareness.

4. Are you comfortable relocating to Dubai and being away from home?

Show you’ve thought it through: you’re excited about the lifestyle, have healthy routines for rest and staying connected with family, and see relocation as part of the adventure rather than a sacrifice.

Tip: Be positive and realistic.

Grooming & presentation

Emirates holds a high grooming standard, and many candidates are filtered on presentation alone. Aim for a clean, professional look: for women a neat bun or French twist with a clear forehead, natural hair colour, subtle make-up and groomed neutral nails; for men, clean-shaven or a neatly trimmed style. Visible tattoos in uniform are not accepted.

Emirates cabin crew — FAQ

No. Most new hires have no aviation experience. Emirates trains you fully and hires for attitude, teamwork and a service mindset.
What is the Emirates “Golden Call”?
